Morning ferry to the old town
Got up before sunrise to catch the first ferry. The water was completely still, and the old town walls looked golden in the early light. Took about forty minutes — worth every minute of lost sleep.
Two days above the clouds
The guesthouse sits at 1,800 meters and the air is thin but incredibly clean. Yesterday's hike took six hours round trip; today is for coffee, maps and doing absolutely nothing.
Border crossings and bad coffee
Spent half the day at the border. The coffee at the roadside stop was terrible, but the view made up for it. Next stop: the coast.
